These terms are an agreement between you and Anjuvo about your use of the Learn Farsi app. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google's own terms also apply to your use of Google Play. If you downloaded it from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, together with these terms where they do not conflict with it.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy: https://anjuvo.com/privacy/. It is part of these terms.

Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Learn Farsi on devices you own or control, for your own learning, not for commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or its content;
  • extract, scrape or bulk-download lessons, words, audio, images or other content, except through the app's own offline download feature for your own use;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law says you may;
  • get around subscription checks, usage limits, security features or App Check;
  • use the app, or its AI features, to build or train another product.

The licence ends if you break these terms, or when you stop using the app.

Your account

When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account for you. You do not have to sign up. Your progress is linked to this account.

You can link your account to an email address, your Apple ID or your Google account. This lets you keep your progress when you change or reinstall your phone. If you stay anonymous and delete the app or lose your device, we may not be able to recover your progress or your purchases' link to it.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@anjuvo.com if you think someone else is using it.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your learning data from our cloud, including any unused speaking time with Mina (see section 5). Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; you do that in the App Store or Google Play.

Subscriptions, purchases and free trials

What is free. Part of the app can be used for free. Which lessons and features are free is shown in the app and may change over time.

Paid plans. Some lessons and features, including Mina, need a paid subscription or purchased speaking time. The plans, what each includes, and their prices are shown in the app before you buy.

Who bills you. All purchases are made through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), and they are charged to your store account. Anjuvo never sees or stores your payment card details. Prices shown in the app come from the store and include any taxes the store applies.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the price then in effect, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Free trials. Some plans may come with a free trial. The trial is offered by the store, and the store decides who is eligible; usually it is available once, to new subscribers only. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the store starts charging you for the plan you chose when the trial ends. The trial length and the price after the trial are shown before you start it.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. For App Store purchases go to reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, see Google Play's refund page or your order history. This does not affect any rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

If a purchase is refunded, we remove what it gave you: a refunded subscription ends your access to paid features, and a refunded speaking-time pack is taken off your balance.

Price changes. We may change our prices. The stores tell you about a price change for an existing subscription in advance and, where required, ask for your consent.

Speaking time with Mina

Conversations with Mina, our AI conversation coach, use speaking time. You can see your balance in the app.

Monthly speaking time comes with certain subscriptions. It is refilled at the start of each calendar month (UTC) to the amount your plan includes. Unused monthly time does not carry over to the next month. If your subscription ends, you keep the time already given for the current month, but it is not refilled.

Trial speaking time. A free trial may include a smaller amount of speaking time. It can be claimed once per account and once per store subscription, and it ends when the trial ends or when you cancel.

Speaking-time packs are one-off purchases. Time you buy does not expire while your account exists. Monthly time is always used before purchased time.

How time is counted. Time is counted from your speech and Mina's speech in each turn, with a small minimum per turn. The exact rules, including session length and daily limits, are shown in the app and may change to keep the service affordable and fair.

Speaking time is not money. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred to another account or person, and is not refundable except where the store refunds the purchase or the law requires it. It belongs to the account it was bought or granted on. If you delete that account, unused speaking time is lost. Moving a subscription to another account (for example by restoring purchases) does not move speaking time with it.

If Mina stops being offered, we will tell you in advance and give you a reasonable chance to use your purchased time, or offer another remedy where the law requires one.

AI features

Learn Farsi uses AI for Mina's conversations, for pronunciation and answer feedback on your speaking, and for some writing checks.

AI can be wrong. AI output can contain mistakes: a misheard word, a wrong correction, an unnatural sentence, or a pronunciation score that does not match how you actually sounded. Mina is not a person. Use her replies and the feedback as practice, not as an authority on Persian.

Not a substitute for a teacher. The AI features are learning aids. They are not a replacement for a qualified human teacher, an official exam, or a certified translation. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions.

How your data is used. When you use an AI feature, your recording and related text are sent to our servers and to our AI providers (OpenAI and Google) to produce the result. You will be asked to agree before your first conversation with Mina. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is sent, where it goes, and how long it is kept: https://anjuvo.com/privacy/. Please do not share sensitive personal information with Mina.

Acceptable use. When you use Mina or any AI feature, you agree not to:

  • try to make Mina produce sexual, hateful, violent, harassing or otherwise harmful content, or content involving minors;
  • try to get around the safety checks, extract her instructions, or make her do something other than language practice;
  • use scripts, bots or recordings to run conversations automatically, or otherwise use the features in a way that is not personal learning;
  • share another person's private information without their permission.

Messages that break these rules may be blocked automatically. If you misuse the AI features, we may limit or end your access to them. Where possible we will tell you why. Speaking time used in a misused conversation is not returned.

Children and Child Mode

Learn Farsi is meant for people aged 16 and older. If you are under 16, you may use the app only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you and is responsible for your use of the app and any purchases.

Child Mode is a simpler mode for younger learners, meant to be used by a parent or guardian with their child. It shows a small set of word activities, leaves out words that are not suitable for children, and turns Mina off. Child Mode is a display and content setting. It does not stop purchases, control screen time, or lock the rest of the app, and a child can leave it. Parents stay responsible for supervising their child's use of the device, and should use their device's own parental controls to manage purchases.

Mina is for users aged 16 and older. Users under 16 may talk to her only with the permission of a parent or guardian. Child Mode turns her off.

Your content and feedback

Some things you create stay yours: your recordings, what you say to Mina, notes in feedback, and custom word sets. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy.

When you send us feedback, suggestions or bug reports, you allow us to use them to improve Learn Farsi and our other apps, without any obligation to you. Please do not include personal information in feedback.

You must not upload or say anything that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

Our content

The app and everything in it — lessons, dialogues, word lists, translations, transliterations, grammar explanations, images, illustrations, audio recordings, voices, and the software itself — are owned by Anjuvo or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. Your licence in section 2 lets you use them in the app for your own learning. It does not give you any other rights to them.

Open-source software included in the app is licensed under its own terms; see Settings → About → Open source licences.

Changes to the app

We keep developing Learn Farsi. We may add, change or remove lessons and features, change what is free and what is paid, or change limits. We will not take away a paid feature you are currently paying for during your paid period without telling you and, where the law requires it, offering a remedy.

We may stop offering the app. If that happens we will tell you in advance where we can.

Disclaimers

We work hard to make the lessons accurate and the app reliable, but we provide Learn Farsi "as is". We cannot promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that every translation, transliteration or recording is correct.

We do not promise any particular learning result, CEFR level or exam outcome.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement under the law of your country.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Anjuvo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the app.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim arose.

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or to any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Ending use

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account and the app. Remember to cancel any subscription in the store as well.

We may suspend or end your access to the app, or to particular features, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app, our providers or the law change. We will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you continue to use the app after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in the European Union or another country whose consumer law gives you protection that cannot be set aside by agreement, you keep that protection, and you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

Otherwise, disputes will be handled by the District Court of The Hague (Rechtbank Den Haag), the Netherlands.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at hello@anjuvo.com. Most things can be sorted out quickly that way.

Other

If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over the app, as long as your rights are not reduced.
